Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe - Fannie Flagg

The narrative structure isn't bothering me. We go back from the 1930s to the 1980s. It does feel like you are just listening to someone tell you a long story. I will say I'm surprised at the fact that one of the characters lesbianism was not looked on with hatred in the 30s in Alabama. That part doesn't feel realistic. I have watched the movie, but the movie is definitely a completely different animal than this book.
