Reading progress update: I've read 100%.
Way too all over the place. I think there was a good idea somewhere in the middle of this, but it just got too big to contain. I just stopped caring about anything that happened. The ending was something.
I think the biggest issue is how soap operaish this book is. And also there are some callbacks to Stephen King's "Misery." I just couldn't get a handle on the why behind most of the plots in Patricia's POV.
Elizabeth's story-line was a mess. Also she's kind of heartless where it concerned her mother and other relatives. She's obsessed with her son and finds out she doesn't know him as well as she thought while sort of stumbling about finding out about her mother and father.
